THE ACCANTO STORY
It’s been an incredible journey from analytics to cloud networking service automation…
A Finnish company originally formed in 2007, for the first 9 years the company built a successful global business in service assurance/monitoring/analytics.
In 2016, in collaboration with IBM, the new CTO, executed on a clear vision that, as cloud virtualization becomes a business reality, existing legacy workflow-based orchestration/automation solutions were not fit-for-purpose and had reached end of life. A new radical technology was needed to deliver the benefits enabled by network cloud.
A strategic board decision was made to divest the exist Accanto products/customers and fully re-focus the company as a cloud network automation tech startup, building new cloud-native technology from scratch.
A world class team from IBM, BT, Nokia, Comptel and Ericsson joined the company to help make it happen.
The Management Team is split between locations in Finland and the UK, The Engineering, Sales and Marketing team are located in Bracknell, UK.
Stratoss Lifecycle Manager V1 was released in 2017 to technical acclaim. V3 is now generally available.
Where are we today?
Following extensive technical evaluation, IBM selected Stratoss as its strategic cloud network automation product and Stratoss (IBM’s Agile Lifecycle Manager) sits at the heart of IBM’s Hybrid Network Cloud strategy.

Management Team
JARKKO MULTANEN
Chief Executive Officer
Jarkko Multanen is CEO of Accanto Systems and a member of the Board. Jarkko was a founder and the CEO of LTE Innovations Ltd. He has over 15 years’ experience in the telecom market. Jarkko started his career in 1993 at TeliaSonera working as NOC expert and OSS Chief Architect for 7 years. He then founded mobile software company PockIT Ltd. which was soon acquired by an investment banking firm.
After founding Distocraft Ltd, a company that focused on OSS service assurance products and solutions, Ericsson Corporation acquired the company and Jarkko continued there as a Strategic Product Manager before founding Accanto Systems. Jarkko has a Master’s of Science in Telecommunications.
BRIAN NAUGHTON
Chief Technology Officer
Brian Naughton is CTO and a member of the Board. Brian has over 25 years’ experience in the Telecommunications industry, starting his career at Nortel Networks and later leading Group OSS Architecture at the Operator C&W. Brian has created a number of industry initiatives ranging from founding ETSI’s Mobile Edge Compute working group, founding the Product and Service Assembly Initiative (BT, C&W, Colt, QinetQ, Oracle, Microsoft) and leading OSS through Java Initiative.
Brian joined IBM as an Executive in their Telco Mega Deals team and most recently held responsibility as the Head of IBM’s Telco Software Business. Brian has a Bachelor in Computer Engineering from University of Limerick and Post Graduate in Software Engineering from Oxford University.
TEEMU JUURINEN
Teemu Juurinen is the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for finance and administration. Teemu joined the company in 2012 and has over 30 years’ experience of finance management in international companies. Prior to Accanto, Teemu worked at Oracle Finland as the Senior Finance Manager. He has also held senior roles at Sun Microsystems and Hitachi Finland.
BEN MCCAFFERTY
SVP Strategic Alliances
Ben has nearly 30 years’ experience in the software and technology industry and is responsible for strategy, on-boarding and building mutually successful partnerships based on Accanto’s flagship Stratoss software. He brings an extensive network and wealth of experience in sales and alliances leadership and has long maintained a passion for market-leading technology.
His previous role was at MDS Global, where he served as Senior VP Global Sales and Alliances. Prior to that, he held a variety of senior leadership positions at Atos, Redknee and Volubill.
